What items does a man and van typically move?

Sofas, beds and mattresses, wardrobes, tables, white goods, televisions, bicycles and e-bikes, gym equipment, mobility scooters and wheelchairs, garden machinery, drained fish tanks, shop fittings, machinery parts, boxes, luggage and single-room or small-house moves.

What is the heaviest thing a man and van can take?

A Luton box van with a tail lift covers most loads up to around 1,300kg in total. For single items, the deciding factor is usually whether two people can safely handle it through the access available, not the van's rating.

What can a man and van not carry?

We do not carry hazardous goods requiring ADR paperwork, gas bottles, loose fuel, illegal items, live animals, cash, temperature-controlled or pharmaceutical-grade consignments, or anything needing a crane, hoist or specialist lifting gear. We do not run a pallet network.

Will you take fragile items?

Yes — televisions, glass, mirrors, artwork and antiques travel regularly, blanket-wrapped and strapped, with photographs at collection and delivery. Fragile items should be packed properly, because cover depends on adequate packaging.

Can you carry items up and down stairs?

Yes, where access allows and a two-person crew has been quoted. Tell us the floor level, the number of stairs and the narrowest doorway at both ends so the job is priced and crewed correctly.

Do you dismantle or assemble furniture?

Not as standard. We move furniture rather than build it. Pool tables are the exception: slate-bed tables normally require specialist dismantling and reassembly, and that has its own dedicated service.

Can you take rubbish away at the same time?

Only as a separately booked waste removal job. Disposal is a licensed activity with its own duty-of-care paperwork, so it is never quietly bundled into a delivery.

What insurance covers the items?

The allocated driver holds driver goods-in-transit cover normally up to £5,000. Taylors Courier Service Ltd's contractual liability is capped separately at £250 under our Terms and Conditions — the two are not the same thing, and the driver's cover is not a guaranteed settlement. Additional insurance may be purchased before collection.
