Benchmark same-day courier rates across UK cities and vehicle types. Published openly by Taylors Courier Service so businesses, journalists and researchers can see what an honest same-day price actually looks like.
Methodology: Rates derived from Taylors' live quote engine for direct-van same-day work, aggregated by collection city and vehicle class. Excludes congestion charges, ULEZ, parking and tolls. Free to cite with attribution and a link back to this page (CC BY 4.0).

Key findings
- The honest UK same-day floor for a small van is around £1.45–£1.60/mile. Anything sustainably below that is being subsidised somewhere — driver pay, insurance cover, or SLA reliability.
- London adds roughly 20–25% to comparable regional rates due to congestion, ULEZ, parking and access time.
- Two-man jobs cost +25% or £30 minimum, not double — most of the cost is vehicle and mileage, not the second pair of hands.
- Flexible (multi-day) bookings can sit ~50% below urgent same-day, because they let drivers backfill empty legs.
